Ideas for Job Searching on Facebook

Ideas for Job Searching on Facebook I read a surprising statistic the other day: These days, more people are finding employment on Facebook than they are on LinkedIn. I was shocked. But I suppose it isn’t all that far-fetched, considering all the companies that are on Facebookâ€"not to mention the 950 million people on it. My recommendation: Use Facebook to scout out companies you would like to work for to see if there are any openings listed on its pageâ€"and then apply if there are. If there aren’t, do some poking around; you may find a contact name you could send your resume and cover letter to. It’s always better to have a name to send your documents to as opposed to the other alternative of “to whom it may concern”. In which case, it may not concern anyone. There’s an app for that! Oh yes, job searching on Facebook â€" there’s an app for that. Actually, there are several apps to help you job search on Facebook. Instead of listing them all separately I’m including a link to a lot of them here so you check them out for yourself: http://jobsearch.about.com/od/jobsearchtools/a/facebookapps.htm Facebook Marketplace. Check it out â€" you’ll be surprised what job openings you can find. Create a Facebook Campaign Ad. Market yourself! No, I’m not kidding â€" here’s some more info on just how to do that and what it could look like: http://theundercoverrecruiter.com/5-ways-use-facebook-your-job-search/ I’m sure there are a few more ideas out there for how to search on Facebook, if you hear of anything interesting please feel free to share it with us!
